About me

I was born in Sydney (Australia). My Dad is italian and my mother is australian. My Dad has been a professional musician all his life and has played with the likes of music giants Dean Martin, Diana Ross, John Paul Young, Maynard Ferguson, Phil Woods, Giulio Capiozzo, Bruno Martino just to name a few).

I have been playing live for over 24 years initially with my father Vincenzo Gentile in the lates 90s for over 7 years in Italy and mainly Austria (200 plus concerts per year).

I have played all sorts of genres from pop to ballroom dancing, soul, rock, blues, funk, fusion and jazz. I initially started to play guitar like my Dad but after a fews years I switched to playing keyboards. At the sweet age of 16, after listening to old vinyl records of Jimmy Smith and Brian Auger I found lying around the house, I absolutely fell in love with the Hammond organ and and has since then been the instrument of my choice.

I love to teach music and never hold back: I love to share the knowledge I have acquired over decades from harmony to improvisation and most important of all interplay with other musicians.

I strive to become a better person and musician everyday and find that my multicultural background, family musical heritage and fusion of various musical styles are all essential to grow to higher playing levels.

My main keyboards of preference are:

Hammond organs
Rhodes electric pianos
Wurlitzer eletric pianos
CP80 eletric grand pianos
Clavinets
Synthesizers (Moog, Sequential and Oberheim)
